Groups and discounts

What is Trem?

Trem is a group buying service that allows any individual to group together with others to access premium food at exclusive low prices direct from wholesale distributors and farms. The larger the group, the larger the buying power, and larger the discount. We are starting with meat from high-end restaurant suppliers but hope to add more selection soon.

Are there any fees to use Trem?

There are no fees to use Trem, joining a group is free, the only cost you pay is the price you pay for the product and shipping.

How do the discounts work?

Each product has listed our current range of progressive discounts on your dashboard. Examples would be group minimum rate for 3 people, additional 10% for 6, 15% for 15, etc.

Why is there a group minimum?

The group minimum is the minimum number of people needed to fulfill an order within the specified order time frame in order to qualify for a bulk discount from our suppliers.

Why is there a group maximum?

We have group maximums in order to fulfill and batch orders as quickly as possible in a short amount of time.

Why is there an order time frame?

We have order time frames in order to get orders out to all of our group members in as quickly of a manner as possible.

How do I invite someone to my group?

You are given an invite link specific to the group purchase that can be shared via social, text, or email.

What is the difference between a private and public group?

Private groups are created by Trem users and get access to lower rates than public groups. Users who create or join a private group are able to share their private group link with friends and family to get the best discounts possible.

Public groups are created by default and still get great pricing, but are open to the public.

Packaging and shipping

How are my orders shipped and packaged?

Our partners ship all meat in cold storage packing via Fedex from the supplier. You will receive a Fedex tracking number upon successful order completion.

What if I’m not home?

It is strongly recommended to ship to an address where someone will be home or at the office in order to place your items in the fridge or freezer upon receiving.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping depends on the partner, and estimated shipping will be noted on the website during checkout, but on average once an order is completed it will take 5-7 business days.

Where do you ship to?

Currently our partners ship to the 48 continental states in the US via Fedex. Alaska and Hawaii are currently not supported.

How secure is your payment system?

We use Stripe (used by Amazon, Google, Zoom & more) to process payments and do not store any credit or debit card information ourselves.

When am I charged?

You are only charged when a group minimum is hit within the order time frame. This typically occurs hours to a day or two after you place your order, but you can always check the status of the specific group on your dashboard and the website.

What if the group minimum is not reached within the order time frame?

You will be emailed to optionally try again to reach the minimum and not be charged.
